Here's an incident that happened last night ... Me, along with six other friends went to this place called "Aranya" on the external ring road (close to the Silk Board junction)
We ordered Chinese food and were not sure of what was in store for us ... To start with the place was not properly lit! When we asked to lit a candle or 2 on the table, the waiter said they had no candles… I mean that was as rude as it could get! May be they did not want to spoil the "Jungle" effect that they had on the terrace ... Afterall the name of the place was "Aranya"!!
Anyways, we were having fun telling storied and cracking jokes… then came the food! I guess they had dim lighting in the kitchen as well … all I could see was big RED CHILLIES in the Shezwan Fried Rice bowl … it was all RED … and we were kinda drinking water every alternate bite … coz invariably we were chewing on Chilies in the dark … But the food had a good taste!
It was the last bite that I had which made all the difference … Instead of chewing on the Chilly, I chewed on something really hard … when I took it out, I saw that I was chewing on a rusted metal wire … Now I lost it then and there … I called up the attendant and showed him the wire which according to me is not what VEG people have for dinner! Then we called the manager of the hotel to our table, but unfortunately he was not there and so we just blasted the guy who was filling in for him!! Poor fellow listened to all we had to say and agreed to not to take any money from us!! We were kinda lucky in more than one ways!! Firstly that metal part did not enter my throat else it would have been really serious and secondly, we had nice spicy food for free!
All and all quite an eventful Sunday dinner!!
